There may be occasions when you wrap large bulky items that are not able to fit into your Pallet Wrapping Machine. We have compiled some helpful tips that will help you with this situation.

1) Reduce the height of the package

Using a saw, cut down two-three inches off of one side of the package. This may reduce the overall height so it will be easy for it to fit into your pallet wrapping machine. If there is still too much product for it to fit, try using a shrink wrap instead. It's similar in appearance to regular plastic but shrinks when heated up by providing an extra layer of security around your products.

2) Cut open the package!

Take a knife and carefully cut open one of the package (from top to bottom). This will reduce the width of your package so it will be able to fit into your pallet wrapping machine. We have found that slicing from the corner and then unfolding is a bit easier.

3) Use a heat gun or hair dryer!

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer on low heat setting to carefully warm up opposite side of package. Be careful not to damage any stickers on the product packaging. Once you have softened it, try folding it inwards, starting from one end and slowly working your way till the other end. You may use tape strips on either side to hold folded flaps together which will make for an easy insertion into your pallet wrapping machine.

4) Stack smaller items!

If you have several smaller items, stack them up on top of each other so it will fit in your pallet wrapping machine. This is a great way to protect products against weather conditions and prevent potential damage to the product during shipment or transport.

5) Use shrink wrap!

Shrink wrap can be very helpful in this situation since they are designed specifically for large bulky items that don't fit into standard plastic wrapping machines. Shrink wrap compresses the item which reduces its overall size. It is ideal for multiple purposes such as protecting the load, storage solution and prevents pilferage by providing protection against tampering.
